In Geary County, four teams are collaborating to try to provide affordable childcare to Geary County, focusing on strategic planning, provider support and training, grants and funding, and facilities and location operations.
The childcare coalition will hold a meeting on Tuesday, June 25th at 3 p.m. at the Dorothy Bramlage Public Library Meeting Room in Junction City. During this meeting, teams will present reports and work on developing infrastructure and bylaws. The coalition will consider whether to renovate an existing facility or construct a new one and establish a foundation to apply for future grants.
Geary County Commission Chair Trish Giordano aims to have some kind of facility ready by the fall of 2025.
