Governor Laura Kelly, following Executive Order #20-30, has directed flags to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Friday, February 16, 2024, in tribute to Lance Cpl. Donavan Davis.

“Lance Cpl. Davis’s life was cut tragically short while serving our country. We will not forget the sacrifices he and the four other young marines made to protect our freedom,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “My condolences go out to these heroes’ families and loved ones.”

Lance Cpl. Davis, alongside four other Marines, lost their lives in a helicopter crash during a routine training exercise in southern California on February 7, 2024. Lance Cpl. Davis was a native of Olathe, Kansas.
