The Home City Community Benefit is fundraising for a $150,000 project to enhance Home City Park, aiming to provide family-friendly outdoor experiences.
The upgrades are planned in five phases. Phase 1 includes ball field lights and fencing updates. Phase 2 focuses on the volleyball court, Phase 3 on dugout roofs and concessions, Phase 4 on playground equipment, and Phase 5 on the splash pad.
Completed projects include electricity restoration, restroom roof replacement, and a new scoreboard. The park currently features a basketball court, picnic shelter, restrooms, and a ball field. Fundraising began in July, with grants being sought for playground equipment.
The sand volleyball court should be ready by September for fall leagues. The goal is to create a safe, updated recreational area that offers more opportunities to the public.
