Kansans have a long history of defending American freedoms, and a new memorial in Junction City’s Heritage Park will honor the 83 men and women from Kansas who died in Iraq and Afghanistan.
An unveiling ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 19 at 3:00 p.m. Each fallen soldier’s name is inscribed on the monument, commemorating those who served since the Gulf War.
The memorial was funded through community donations and the efforts of dedicated volunteers, many of whom will attend and share their stories.
The public is invited to join this significant dedication of Kansas history.
