Kansas ABLE Savings Plan Roadshow to Visit Concordia

By Ryan Duey

The Kansas ABLE Savings Plan Roadshow will visit Frank Carlson Library in Concordia on Wednesday, June 26th, from noon to 1 pm. This initiative aims to educate Kansans with disabilities, their families, and caregivers about the ABLE Savings Program, which allows individuals with disabilities to save for future expenses without jeopardizing eligibility for assistance programs like SSI and Medicaid. The event will offer information, answer questions, and provide support for opening ABLE accounts.

This roadshow is part of a collaboration between Kansas Secretary of State Steven Johnson, the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services, and the Kansas Council on Developmental Disabilities.

It specifically targets Kansans with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities on the Home and Community-Based Service waiver waitlist. Johnson’s office is partnering with Community Developmental Disability Organizations statewide to inform and assist these individuals.
