Linsay H. Metcalf is a children’s book author in Concordia, Kansas. She has recently written another book that will be released this spring called “Outdoor Farm, Indoor Farm.” Metcalf’s books are nonfiction.

In an interview with Midwest Messenger, she shared that she is excited because the new book has already been recognized as a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection. This means more children will have access to the book once it is released.

“Outdoor Farm, Indoor Farm” explains how farms are constantly changing with new innovations. It also explains where our food comes from. The book is written for kids around 3 years old.

Metcalf has quite a bit of experience when it comes to writing; she was formerly a reporter and editor for The Kansas City Star newspaper before she began focusing on writing books for the past eight years. She grew up on a farm in Kansas where they grew soybeans, corn, and milo.
