The Marshall County Health Department in Marysville has reopened at its original location on Sixth and Broadway after 20 months in a temporary site due to tornado damage. An open house is scheduled for February 21st at 3:00 pm.
The newly constructed building boasts a welcoming interior with a front office, waiting area, offices, examination rooms, and specialized rooms for services such as foot care and vaccinations. The facility, funded by a combination of sources including insurance, grants, and COVID-19 funds, aims to provide a variety of health services to the community. The director, Cheryl Skalla, expressed relief at the completion and highlighted the collaborative effort in designing the new space.
The department serves various health needs, including immunizations, blood pressure checks, prenatal education, and more. County commissioners praised the building, emphasizing its importance for public health.
