Marysville City Council Holds Special Session on City Administrator Position

By Ryan Duey

The Marysville City Council convened during a special session on March 6th at the Marysville fire station to discuss potential candidates for the vacant city administrator position.

Three candidates, Joshua Haverkamp, Christina Mambourg, and Patrick Marsh (who has since taken another job in California), participated in community meet and greets, interviews, and city tours last week.

Over 20 people attended the meet and greet at the Lee Dam Center for Fine Art on Feb. 28th. Residents got the opportunity to visit with each candidate and have their questions answered.

The council held two closed sessions on Feb. 29th, which included city supervisors, department heads, and representatives from the recruiting firm, Strategic Government Resources. No binding action was taken after the sessions.

The city has been without a full-time administrator since Austin St. John left in October, with Jeff Pederson serving as interim administrator since November.
