The Cloud County Commission has declared October as “Down Syndrome Awareness Month.” One in 800 children are born with Down Syndrome each year. While a lot of research has been done, there is still more that can be learned about the causes and treatments.
Every October, the North Central Kansas Down Syndrome Society sponsors a “Buddy Walk.” The Buddy Walk helps raise funds for scientific research and supports individuals with Down Syndrome. The Buddy Walk is held every year on the first Sunday in October. The North Central Kansas Down Syndrome Society aims to provide support and resources to those with Down Syndrome and their families.
