The P5 Ranch, recognized as the largest contiguous ranch in Kansas is under new ownership. Recently sold by Whitetail Properties Real Estate, this transaction is the company’s most extensive property sale to date.
Situated in Hamilton and Kearny counties, about 24 miles west of Garden City, the ranch is a blend of farm, cattle operation, and recreational land. Whitetail Properties Land Specialists, Mitch Keeley, and Adam Hann, who facilitated the sale, said P5 ranch is unique in that it combines all three property types, which is hard to come across in Kansas.
With over 40,000 acres of prime pastureland and over 2,700 acres of pivot irrigated and dryland tillable ground, the ranch can support a cattle capacity ranging from 6,500 to 8,000 head. The 17 irrigation pivots on the property are used for cultivating alfalfa, triticale, and corn, sustaining the high capacity of livestock grazing on the ranch.
The ranch also offers hunting. Over 17 miles of Arkansas River frontage attract whitetail, mule deer, and elk, and a 36-acre lake on the ranch creates opportunities for waterfowl hunting
