The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) announced in a release that Ray Seif was named the Director of Aviation for KDOT.
Seif expressed excitement about working with local airports across Kansas.
“It’s important to help airports improve their infrastructure and support the needs of the community,” Seif said. “I’m passionate about working with stakeholders to grow workforce development opportunities.”
Receiving a master’s in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Seif is also a commercial, multi-instrument aircraft pilot.
Before assuming his current role, Seif held the position of Manager at the Augusta Municipal Airport. Before this, he served as the Manager at the Jasper County Airport in Indiana. He seeks to share his experiences, which enabled him to effectively allocate budget resources and enhance airport functionalities.
“I’m interested in growing aviation as a whole and reaching our next generation to help bring people into the industry,” he said.
Seif and his wife have a son, two daughters, and two dogs. He is actively involved in aiding in solutions for homelessness, and affordable housing
