Tanganyika Wildlife Park announced on their Facebook the arrival of baby African penguins. The youngest of the chicks, born to parents Murphie and Carson, arrived on February 5th, 2024.
The older chick, an offspring of Ava and Neal, hatched earlier on January 16th, 2024. This baby is growing rapidly, due to its love for consuming lots of fish.
Tanganyika Wildlife Park’s breeding program aims to diversify the genetics of various species under human care and boost their populations. Given that African Penguins are classified as endangered on the IUCN Red List, the zoo said it is happy to celebrate the hatching of these chicks.
