The United Way of Junction City-Geary County has announced that it will provide Pawnee Mental Health with $1,500 in funding for 2024. This contribution will support the continuation and enhancement of the S.T.A.R.S. (Strength, Teamwork, Attitude, Relationships, Self-Esteem) Camp, a crucial summer program for children aged 5-17 with serious emotional disturbances (SED) in the Youth Community Services.
Now in its 22nd year, the S.T.A.R.S. Camp, hosted by Pawnee Mental Health, serves as a lifeline for children with SED, offering them a supportive summer experience. For many participants, this camp is their only chance to engage in enjoyable and supportive summer activities, helping them develop essential skills such as resilience, teamwork, and self-esteem.
