On Monday, July 15th, the Cloud County Commission unanimously appointed Janet Pearson to fill an unexpired term on the Cloud County Convention and Tourism Board. Pearson fills the vacant Brown Grand Theatre committee position replacing John Paul Breault, who previously resigned.
Cloud County Tourism, which promotes the county’s historical, artistic, and cultural assets in the communities of Concordia, Jamestown, Clyde, Aurora, Glasco, and Miltonvale, is governed by a ten-member committee appointed by the commission.
Funding comes from a five percent countywide transient guest tax on room rentals, with quarterly payments from the state of Kansas. The organization plans group tours, assists with meetings and conferences, arranges individual tours, answers information requests, maintains social media, welcomes visitors at the Travel Information Center, and markets the county.
