Electric Scooters Returning to Manhattan

Pay-to-use electric scooters are returning to Manhattan through a partnership between K-State, city officials, and Veo. Starting March 1st, 400 Astro electric scooters will be available for rent.

Previously, Manhattan had a shared-use scooter program with LINK, which ended in December 2023. The Veo scooters are accessible via the Veo app for users 18 and older. Riders must park in designated spots and submit a photo for verification. Officials are working to identify suitable parking and deployment zones. City ordinance permits scooters on public streets but restricts them from major highways, certain downtown areas, and city parking lots.

Veo will disable scooters during Fake Patty’s Day celebrations and have staff in town daily for maintenance. Officials urge riders to follow traffic laws, yield to pedestrians, and wear helmets. A Veo Q&A session will be held at K-State on March 3rd at 11:00 a.m.
