US-24 Near Manhattan to Close for KDOT Roundabout Project Starting April 7

Starting on Monday, April 7th a portion of US-24 near Manhattan will close next week as crews begin a Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) roundabout project.

The closure affects the highway between the K-113 and K-13 junctions and is expected to last until December. Local property access will initially be from the west at US-24 and K-113, then shift to the east at US-24 and K-13 later this summer, with prior notice provided. South Dam Road access will remain open, and the Bent Tree Drive median crossing will reopen for left turns.

A “shoo-fly” detour at US-24 and K-113 is under construction, with a temporary 15 mph speed limit for eastbound traffic turning south. Work zones will have a 12-foot width restriction and a 25 mph speed limit. Motorists should use marked detours on K-113, K-18, and US-24 or alternate routes and stay alert in work zones.
