The Marysville City Council unanimously approved Anthony Escalante as the new police chief, succeeding Matt Simpson. Escalante aims to continue fostering a shared vision of community-focused policing. He emphasizes balancing strong law enforcement with strong community relationships, stating the department is “in the people business.”
Escalante values teamwork and believes in hiring and training great people for exceptional service. He helped develop a new five-year operational plan with priorities like school safety, combating cyber and drug crimes, and officer wellness.
With over two decades of experience in corrections and law enforcement, including leadership roles and extensive certifications, Escalante brings deep expertise to the role.
