On Thursday, April 11th, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Cloud County Emergency Management will offer a storm spotter class at Cloud County Community College in Concordia. The National Weather Service Office in Topeka will be there to help. The class will be in the college’s meeting room PA 257. Cloud County Emergency Management asks participants to park in Parking Lot #3 and take the elevator or stairs up to the top floor.
The class will discuss thunderstorm development, safety tips, and how to report storm information. Storm spotters help keep local communities safe by providing reports of severe weather to the National Weather Service. This allows the National Weather Service to issue proper warnings and watches to communities during times of severe weather.
