According to a recent article by KWCH Reporter Ana Valdez, The National Weather service is offering free severe weather education presentations across Kansas as severe weather season approaches.
The presentations will give Kansans the opportunity to learn how storms form, as well as how to stay safe during severe weather.
“We bring some unique experience and everything to teach people how not to be afraid of storms, but be prepared and learn more about them,” said Chris Jakub with the National Weather Service Wichita Office.
The presentations will include examples of different types of weather and serve as a reminder to be prepared. They will also teach people about weather that is common in Kansas, like windstorms.
“We can all be impacted by weather. We just want to keep people safe and prepare them,” said Jakub.
Those interested in attending can find upcoming presentations by visiting the National Weather Service website.
