Today at 8:02 a.m., Governor Laura Kelly declared a verbal state of disaster emergency in response to the severe weather that affected the state from Sunday into Monday. This proclamation triggers the Kansas Response Plan, enabling quick assistance from state agencies to communities in distress. The Kansas Division of Emergency Management is currently managing support requests from the affected counties.
