ClayNA Providing Former Substance Abusers Community And Support

By Quinn O’Hara

Cassie Kerr and the Clay Narcotics Anonymous group have been meeting together since June of 2023. The ClayNA group aims to provide Clay Center area recovering substance abusers a space for support, community, and hope.

Kerr says she is a former addict herself, and she says finding a sense of community following her treatment was an important part of her recovery process:

Kerr says there was a Clay Center NA group before hers, but membership slowly declined and eventually dissolved. She and Cofounder Dana Martinez hope to continue to grow membership of the group, which currently has around 10 members.

The ClayNA group meets at the Common Ground building Thursday evenings from 7:30-8:30pm.
