The City of Washington playground committee met with Deb Ohlde, North Central Regional Planning Commission (NCRPC), on February 15th to discuss the responses to the Low to Moderate Income (LMI) survey that was sent out last month to determine if the City would qualify for a grant for the playground project.
The preliminary responses were lower than the number needed to determine whether the qualification has been met, as only 229 surveys out of 519 were returned. To qualify, 51% of the respondents must fall into the low to moderate-income category, and as of now, the responses indicate that only 24% fall into the qualifying category.
Due to the very short time frame for the grant application, more respondents are needed as soon as possible. The playground committee is asking that anyone who received a survey please complete it and return it to City Hall by March 1st so that the grant application can move forward.
If you would like assistance completing the form, please contact City Hall and office staff will be happy to assist you. If you no longer have your survey, you may contact City Hall to request a new one.
Playground committee members will begin reaching out to non-respondents to help with filling them out as well.
