House Representative Tracey Mann visited Clay Center on February 22nd at the Clay County Museum during his 60-County Town Hall Listening Tour. Rep. Mann stated that the Big First District has now grown to 60 counties, adding more counties in NE Kansas, and is now the top District in Kansas in crop production.
Mann spoke of many different topics, but his number one concern is the Farm Bill. He says his biggest priority in the Bill is crop insurance.
Mann spoke of the border, the upcoming election, and the National Debt while taking questions from the audience. He stated that this will be the first year that the interest payment on the National Debt is the biggest line item in the Federal Budget.
Mann did take a moment to recognize the FFA members who joined the Town Hall Meeting and acknowledge that they are our future leaders in agriculture.
