On February 18th and 19th, a group of local 4-H members attended “Citizenship in Action” in Topeka. The weekend was a great opportunity for 4-H members to visit the Capital, see how the legislation works, and visit with legislators of their District.
Kathryn Seward, 4-H member in the Clay County District, was one of the attendees at Citizenship in Action. She says they discussed some of the Bills that are currently going through legislation.
Seward says they were able to meet with legislators and learn about Programs that are offered where they would get to be involved in the State a little more.
This yearly Event is a great opportunity for our local 4-Hers to meet legislators and learn how they can have an effect on the legislative process.
