April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. On Friday, April 5 the Clay County Health Department and the Clay Center Head Start and Early Head Start Program will be wearing blue in honor of child abuse survivors, said CCHD Public Health Nurse Nikki Burwell.
Burwell said all children deserve happy childhoods and bright futures, and that child abuse should be fought against not just in April but all year long. Burwell urges the community to show their support by wearing blue this Friday.
