Since 1933 the National Association for Amateur Radio (ARRL) has held a National Field Day on the fourth weekend in June. ARRL Field Day is the most popular on-the-air event held annually in the US and Canada. More than 35,000 radio amateurs gather with their clubs, groups, or simply with friends to operate from remote locations.

For over 100 years Amateur Radio, also known as ham radio, has been widely used by people of all walks of life to provide free public service during times of disaster or emergency, without the need for internet or cell phones.

The Kansas-Nebraska Radio Club will be participating in this 24-hour exercise on June 22nd and 23rd at VFW Post 7697 in Glasco with setup beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

The public is welcome to join the Radio Club in Glasco during their Field Day Exercise to learn the science and skills of Amateur Radio and learn more about the vast abilities of Ham Radio.
