Jaron Tibbs, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound wide receiver, has transferred from Purdue to Kansas State University, signing with the Wildcats on December 18. Tibbs, originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, chose K-State after two seasons with Purdue, canceling planned visits to Arkansas and USC.

Tibbs’ decision came after a 36-hour visit to Manhattan, Kansas, where he met with K-State coaches, including wide receivers coach Matthew Middleton and offensive coordinator Conor Riley. He also spent time with quarterback Avery Johnson, solidifying his choice to join the Wildcats.

At Purdue, Tibbs recorded 25 receptions for 305 yards and two touchdowns during his sophomore season. His performance included a career-high 73 receiving yards against Michigan State. Before college, Tibbs excelled at Cathedral High School, where he caught 61 passes for 910 yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior.

K-State’s offense, which set records in 2024, appealed to Tibbs. He sees an opportunity to contribute significantly alongside returning wide receiver Jayce Brown.

Tibbs cited K-State’s winning culture as a key factor in his decision. The Wildcats have achieved at least nine wins and a Big 12 Championship in each of the past three seasons.

Looking forward to his role with the team, Tibbs aims to contribute as part of a potentially dynamic wide receiver duo with Brown. His basketball background has enhanced his skills in route running and ball control, and he is committed to continuous improvement.

With quarterback Avery Johnson’s ability to extend plays, Tibbs is positioned to thrive in K-State’s offense. Kansas State fans now look forward to seeing Tibbs contribute as the Wildcats aim to continue their recent success.
