Kansas State fell to 11th-ranked TCU, 3-1, on Friday night at Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena. The Wildcats dropped the match 24-26, 23-25, 34-32, 17-25.
Senior setter Ava LeGrand led K-State with 40 assists, 19 digs, and four blocks — her eighth double-double of the season. Symone Sims recorded 20 digs, while Shaylee Myers and Aniya Clinton combined for 39 of the team’s 57 kills. Clinton also tallied three service aces, and Brenna Schmidt added six blocks.
Despite out-blocking the Horned Frogs 9-7 and winning a 34-32 third set, K-State couldn’t overcome TCU’s balanced attack. Evan Hendrix paced the Frogs with 27 kills as TCU improved to 16-3 and 6-1 in Big 12 play.
The Wildcats (7-8, 2-5 Big 12) travel next to Lawrence for the Dillons Sunflower Showdown against Kansas on October 24, airing on ESPNU.
