K-State fell 82–70 to South Dakota State on Saturday in the finale of the Cancun Challenge. The Wildcats, now 5–5, were led by Taryn Sides, who scored 27 points on 11-of-21 shooting and made five three-pointers. She added five rebounds and three assists. Sides averaged 23.3 points across the three games in Mexico.
Izela Arenas added 11 points, while Nastja Claessens and Jordan Speiser each scored 10. K-State trailed 37–30 at halftime and could not get the margin under nine in the second half. South Dakota State shot 52 percent from the field and won the rebounding battle 38–22.
Brooklyn Meyer led the Jackrabbits with 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
K-State shot 46.7 percent but gave up 10 made threes. The Wildcats return to action December 7 against Ole Miss in the Bill Snyder Classic.
