Kansas State University celebrated the opening of the Bilbrey Family Event Center on October 10th, marking the first completed facility in the university’s $210 million Agriculture Innovation Initiative.
The new center enhances K-State’s equine and livestock programs while expanding outreach and educational opportunities statewide. The 130-by-250-foot arena seats 3,000 and includes livestock pens, wash racks, meeting rooms, concessions, and a VIP lounge. Starting in spring 2025, classes will be held at the facility to provide hands-on learning experiences.
K-State expects to host about 40 events annually, including the K-State Rodeo, Cattlemen’s Day, and 4-H competitions. University leaders say the center strengthens connections between students, industry professionals, and agricultural communities.
Rodeo team president Madeline Meyer praised the year-round, climate-controlled arena as “absolutely amazing” for training and competitions.
