Cloud County has announced they have won the large organization category in the fourth annual Give Back Kansas Challenge, hosted by the Kansas Volunteer Commission and Volunteer Kansas.
This challenge, aimed at promoting employer-supported volunteering, ran from April 1st to May 31st and involved 16 businesses categorized by size. Cloud County had 23 employees who volunteered 584 hours. Overall, participants contributed 6,232 hours valued at $185,028 by the Independent Sector.
Each winning employer, including Cloud County, will choose a charity to receive a $1,000 grant from Volunteer Kansas. The Kansas Volunteer Commission, a program of the Kansas State Department of Education, aims to empower Kansans through service by supporting local initiatives and providing leadership.
