By Ryan Duey

The Northeast Kansas Animal Welfare Foundation (NKAWF) announced the recipients of the 2024 Humane Community Grants. The $12,000 total in funding was given to programs focused on spay and neuter initiatives throughout Northeast Kansas.

Have a Heart TNR in Clifton was awarded $2500 in grant funding to help continue their spay and neuter program. John Meyers, Have a Heart TNR President, was very appreciative of the selection.

“I appreciate Northeast Kansas Animal Welfare Foundation selecting Have A Heart TNR to receive the $2500 grant. The money will be used entirely for spay-neuter surgery for cats in my service area of Clay, Cloud, Republic, and Washington counties in north central Kansas.”

Have a Heart TNR has been providing trap-neuter-return services to the area since 2019, while also finding forever homes for abandoned cats. To learn more about Have a Heart TNR visit their website.
