Vicki Schmidt, Insurance Commissioner of Kansas, released the figures related to the compensation paid by insurance firms for storm damage claims in Kansas in 2023. The total number of storm claims in 2023 was 147,710, with insurance companies paying $442,822,099.11 for these claims.
The data, which was gathered from all entities offering property and casualty insurance in Kansas, includes the total count of claims and the corresponding payouts. These figures span various categories of storm damages such as hail, wind, water damage, and other weather-related losses for both homeowner and automobile policies.
Among all the counties, Johnson County recorded the highest claim amount, while Greeley County registered the lowest. A county-by-county breakdown of the data can be found on the Department’s website.
