Realignment Closes Old Milford Road in Geary County

Geary Co., Kan. — The Kansas Department of Transportation is progressing on work for the project realigning Old Milford Road and Old 77 Highway with U.S. 77 and has closed Old Milford Road in Geary County.

Access to Old Milford Road from U.S. 77 is closed for realignment and safety improvements, with traffic following the signed detour via K-57.

Resurfacing and grading work for U.S. 77 will continue from just south of the U.S. 77/Old Milford Road junction and proceed north about 1.5 miles to the north U.S. 77/K-57 junction.

Ebert Construction Co. Inc. of Wamego is the prime contractor for this $10 million project and has scheduled Old Milford Road to reopen in July. The project work should be completed by March 2023, weather permitting.

KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone.  To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas, go to www.kandrive.org or call 5-1-1.
