Resurfacing and guardrail projects in Geary County

Kansas- The Kansas Department of Transportation has begun work for a project realigning Old Milford Road and Old 77 Highway with Highway 77. A second project, replacing guardrail along Highway 77 will begin on March 28.

Resurfacing work on U.S. 77 will occur from just south of the U.S. 77/Old Milford Road junction and proceed north about 1.5 miles to the north U.S. 77/K-57 junction. Guardrail work on U.S. 77 will occur just north of Rucker Road and extend north about 13 miles to the Geary/Riley County line.

Traffic will be carried through construction at a reduced speed with occasional lane closures and a width restriction of  up to 11 ft. depending upon lane shifts and ongoing construction work.

Ebert Construction Co. Inc. of Wamego is the prime contractor for both projects totaling $1.7 million and has scheduled work to be completed by March 2023, weather permitting.

KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone.  To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas, go to www.kandrive.org or call 5-1-1.
