Starting on Monday, June 3rd, the BNSF Railway plans to close US Highway 24 from US Highway 81 to Beloit in Cloud and Mitchell counties to repair and upgrade the tracks.

US Highway 24 is scheduled to remain closed for about a week. Once it is repaired, it will reopen, and K-9 will close for a week.

During the closure of US Highway 24, motorists will be directed to detour on K-9. When K-9 ( is closed, motorists will be directed to detour on US Highway 24.

KDOT urges motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through highway work zones.
