Washington County Celebrates 50th Annual Rodeo

This weekend is the 50th annual Washington County Rodeo, which is something to celebrate and Washington County Saddle Club marketing manager Rachel Footit says she hopes it will continue for fifty more.

Thanks to the support of the city, the rodeo has come a long way from where it began, evolving fro

m a field to the arena where it’s been hosted at for around the last 20 years.

While attendees can expect some familiar favorites, such as mutton busting, this year Rachel says they’re excited to bring vendors into the mix.

Rachel also gives thanks to their sponsors and everyone involved and stated they couldn’t have done it without them. The festivities begin tomorrow night with gates opening at 5 with a free pork burger meal, followed by a color guard performance at 6:30, and the rodeo kicks off at 7:30.
