Clay County Animal Rescue and Education Center has recently set up a pet food blessing box.

Located at the CCARE building, the Happy Tails Pantry box will hold free dog and cat food for those in need. Shelter Manager John Reib said the box was organized after CCARE Admins noticed a need for one in the community.

The blessing box will be supported solely by community donations, which Reib said would’ve been difficult to sustain in the past.

CCARE prefers that donations to the box be given directly to the organization so they can properly allocate resources between their needs and those of the box.
