Four members of the Clay Center FFA Chapter will travel to Washington D.C. from June 11th to June 16th to attend the Washington Leadership Conference. This Conference is aimed at helping attendees learn how to become effective leaders in their communities.
Andrea Flegler, FFA Advisor, said the four members raised funds throughout the year with additional funding support from the Clay County Commissioners and Local FFA Alumni Chapter. Member Lauren Benfer was also a recipient of a Kansas FFA Alumni Scholarship to help fund her trip.
The members will have the opportunity to visit unique sites while in Washington D.C. Flegler said this trip is meaningful to let the people in Washington D.C know what FFA is and the difference they are making in their community.
Flegler said this is an important Conference to show why FFA is so important in the school system.
