Clay County- A traffic accident occurred on August 21st, 2023, at 7:52 am, near the entrance of the address at 970 18th Road. Officers from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and Clay County EMS promptly responded.

At the scene, a White 2023 Dodge 2500 pickup and a Silver Mazda CX9 were found in the South ditch of 18th Rd. (US24). Investigations indicated that the Dodge pickup was traveling eastbound on 18th Road, while the Silver Mazda was heading westbound and then turned south to enter the driveway at 970 18th Road.

Both vehicles were driven by single individuals. One driver was transported to the Clay County Medical Center for medical attention.

Authorities are considering the role of severe fog in the accident due to the limited visibility it caused.

Drivers are reminded to exercise caution during adverse weather conditions and adapt their driving accordingly. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office emphasizes safety as a priority.
