Discovery Land Services recently sent out letters to landowners in Northeast Kansas seeking permission to search for and obtain natural gases on their properties. The permits are needed to conduct seismic testing to see what potential certain areas have for producing hydrogen.
Jason Rayburn, High Plains Resources Land Advisor, tells us a bit of what it would mean for landowners if hydrogen is found.
Jason said if permits are granted they are looking to begin their 5-6 week study in February or March, covering around 500 miles in 7 counties, including Clay, Cloud, Dickinson, Marshall, Ottawa, and Washington.
As of Monday, December 11th, Clay County had not issued a permit.
A Town Hall Meeting for landowners will be hosted by Discovery Land Services.
