By Ryan Duey

The Clay Center Community High School (CCCHS) Tiger Band will have a special guest Conducting them during the Winter Concert on January 23rd. Jamie Minneman, President of the Kansas Music Educators Association (KMEA) has graciously accepted an invite from Daniela Thrasher, CCCHS Band Director, to be part of this year’s Concert.

Minneman, a long-time educator, is also the Director of Instrumental Activities at Barton Community College in Great Bend. Minneman talked to us about being approached to bring her talents to Clay Center.

While Minneman is currently the KMEA President and working in the College ranks, she remembers her time working as a High School Music Teacher in the area and is excited for the opportunity.

Minneman will also hold Clinics for all Clay Center Bands. Be in the Martin-Snodgrass Auditorium on January 23rd at 7:00 PM to see this great collaboration.
