USD 379 is proactively searching for ways to recruit and retain staff.
At the USD 379 school board meeting on Monday, November 13th, Superintendent of Schools Brett Nelson reported on the district’s efforts to recruit and retain staff. Nelson says staffing is a major issue the district wants to address as soon as possible:
Nelson says that as the district is doing its best to address the issue early, step one is figuring out where the district stands with its staff:
Nelson also lists the lack of childcare and affordable housing as primary barriers to staff recruitment. Results of the national study will be available in February, and Nelson says once the results have been published, the district will formulate a plan of action to implement their findings.
