Wakefield Resident Raises Money for Play Clocks

Wakefield, KS- Neal Summerson is a Wakefield resident and father to a student at Wakefield Highschool who is also on the football team.  He decided that he wanted to do something to improve not just the community, but also the athletic facilities.

Summerson, who is a big football fan, along with numerous residents in Wakefield, took on the project to raise $4,000 dollars in about a month to purchase a set of play clocks for the football field.

Summerson wanted to be sure that Wakefield students got some of the nice things that sometimes they may not otherwise get being a small town and that he plans on taking on one big project a year, and an idea being tossed around for the next plan is purchasing and installing end zone cameras so the team can have a way to film practice from a high angle and even the games.

Summerson is very appreciative to everyone in their donation and willingness to get this project done, and sends huge thanks to everyone.

The clocks have been installed and tested and will be used for tonight’s home game where the Bombers go against Herrington at 7 PM.
