Minnesota infant abducted by noncustodial parent found in Abilene

Abilene Police said an abducted 5-month-old child was rescued on Thursday in Abilene.

The Abilene Police Department said on Thursday, April 18th at approximately 7:51 p.m., the department received an alert from a Flock license plate reader that a vehicle associated with an abducted five-month-old child from Minnesota was in Abilene.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle and occupants in the 2100 block of North Buckeye Ave. Officers discovered that the child had been taken from Minnesota by a non-custodial parent.

The five-month-old child was taken into police custody without incident and arrangements are being made for their safe return back to Minnesota, the Abilene Police Department said.
