Join the Chapman Public Library in Smashing Geodes at its Upcoming STEAM Event

By Ryan Duey

The Chapman Public Library invites citizens of all ages to its next STEAM Event, “Smashing Geodes!” on Wednesday, May 8th from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Jennifer McCall, Library Director, said Geodes form crystals when water runs through them.

During this STEAM Event, attendees will learn about rocks and their different characteristics. McCall said they will be using hammers to smash open the Geodes.

McCall said that children 6 and under will need a parent or other adult to be present with them since they will be using hammers and other activities may need adult assistance. Visit the Library’s Facebook page or for more information.
