USD 435 will issue bonds to renovate and improve the High School’s Science Department after the unofficial results of the Special Election yesterday, April 18th recorded 348 Yes votes to only 125 No votes in a low voter turnout election.
The results show that only 8% of registered voters cast their ballots at the voting poll, with only 4 voters arriving at one voting location in the county, per the County Clerk.
A Canvass will now take place on April 25th in the County Commission Chambers at 11:45 a.m.
The school district will then issue $3 million in bonds for improvements on the second-floor rooms of the High School, which were built in the mid 1950s.
