The Lord’s Acre Meal was a long-standing tradition at the United Methodists Church in Barnes. The Church was no longer able to continue the tradition but for several years now the Cougars Den in Morrowville has served a meal patterned after the meal that was in Barnes. Rustin Nanninga, the main cook at the Cougar’s Den, tells us about the meal.
He also shares some of the history of the meal.
The church generously donated some of the utensils and pans to prepare the meal. The proceeds go to the Cougar’s Den to help keep the community run cafe in operation.
