Throughout this week, May 19th-25th, Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Centers across the country are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of EMS Week. A week dedicated to honoring the history of the profession and the dedicated work EMS professionals do daily.
Erin Evert Williams, Administrator at Republic County EMS, said there are many different types of services including, full-time, volunteer, combination services, and more. And all of them put in an incredible amount of time to serve their community.
During EMS week, EMS professionals get the opportunity to build their skills, while preparing for the future. Williams said they are gearing up for summer.
Williams wanted to thank the Republic County communities for allowing them to serve their towns. This is a week to take time to thank EMS professionals for their tireless efforts.
