What to Expect on the August Primary Ballot in Clay County

Clay Co., Kan. — While the Primary elections are a few months away still, Clay County Clerk Kayla Wang provided information about what county residents can expect to see on the ballot this August.
Statewide, voters will decide on US Senator and Representative, Governor and Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Treasurer, and Commissioner of Insurance. Voters will also decide on a constitutional amendment about abortion rights.
Clay County residents will decide on their state representative in the 64th district which is currently between incumbent Rep. Suzie Carlson and Lewis Bloom, a rural Clay Center farmer and stockman.
Before, those in the southwestern portion of Clay County were included in the 70th district but now the 64th district has expanded into northern Dickinson County.

Wang said there are a few local races voters will decide on as well.

She added if you’ve moved or changed your name come back into the Clerk’s office and re-register to vote.
